Screenreaders
These assist visually impaired people to use websites by using touch or sound methods to “convert” webpages. They can read the content aloud on each page and describe the images, or they can have an external display that changes web content into braille.
JAWS, is a screen reader for Windows. A time-limited, downloadable demo is available.
Lynx is a free text-only web browser for blind users with refreshable Braille displays.
Links a free text-only web browser for visual users with low bandwidth.
WebbIE is a web browser for blind and visually-impaired people, especially those using screen readers, since 2001 worldwide.
