National Apprenticeship Week took place between 10th-16th February.
We wanted to do everything we could to ensure our Apprentices felt appreciated not just during the week but throughout their entire time at Tai Calon.
Here is what some of our team had to say about working with all of our Apprentices, followed by a Friday Lunch with the team.
Billy is Tai Calon’s newest apprentice electrician who started officially in September 2024. Billy came to us to ask for work experience and completed 5 months in the Gas and Electric Team. Tai Calon then offered him an apprenticeship as the whole team was so impressed with his standard of work, attitude and enthusiasm.
Billy is being mentored by Peter Lewis and is paired with Daniel Jones for the first year of his apprenticeship in the Voids World, where he is working with Dan learning Rewiring, Full EICR Testing and Repairs. Voids is an excellent place for an apprentice to learn.
Since starting his apprenticeship, he has been working on learning rewiring, full EICR testing and with supervision started changing CCU units, completing repairs on tests and is now moving towards completing the tests himself.
The team are determined to make Billy skilled for the future of the business and the rest of the world. Alongside his apprenticeship, we have been encouraging him to complete renewables courses with the rest of the team.
Go Billy!
There have been some outstanding efforts and work ethic by our two apprentice plumbers, Dylan and Callum.
Dylan and Callum’s hard work and dedication have been pivotal in ensuring Tai Calon continue to deliver fantastic customer service for customers, even under challenging circumstances. Their commitment and teamwork have truly made a significant impact.
Their willingness to complete work and their proactive attitude, including their eagerness to keep busy and support the team, has not gone unnoticed and is a perfect example of our colleagues living the CALON values!
Rhys has been an absolute joy to have at Tai Calon. His knack for picking up new concepts and running with them is nothing short of impressive. Rhys’s proactive approach and great attitude towards challenges have been inspiring for our team. Plus, his positive vibes, laid-back character and team spirit make him a joy to work with.
Tyler has been a great addition to team Tai Calon. His technical skills have progressed massively, and his innovative solutions have made our processes smoother than ever. Tyler’s attention to detail and problem-solving are top-notch. His enthusiasm and eagerness to learn have brought fresh energy to our team.
Both men, embody the true spirit and ethos of Tai Calon, proving that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. We’re proud to have them on our team and can’t wait to see what they achieve next.
Josh joined Tai Calon in August 2024 and has since been an invaluable part of our team. He has come a long way since his skill test in the rear yard. His hard work, commitment, and eagerness to learn have truly set him apart. He is continuing to learn and grow his confidence throughout the months. Plus, his sense of humour and ability to fit in well with the team make him a joy to work with.
Tai Calon is very grateful to have Josh as a part of the team.
Darren Matthews, Head of Property Services, has also passed on Tai Calon’s thanks to our apprentices – “Apprentices are the future of Tai Calon and we’re so fortunate to have such fantastic examples in these boys!”
