Recently, our Wellbeing Team were approached by Ebbw Fawr Learning Community to ask if we could support them in building a new work shed for the students.

The students who are currently undertaking a Workskills qualification were promised somewhere to put the skills they are learning about in the classroom into action. The qualification involves construction such as bricklaying, tiling, plastering and more and we hope that this new shelter helps provide the much needed space to practice these skills.

When looking for a partner to help deliver this promise, Tai Calon jumped at the opportunity! We gladly donated the windows, door, and labour over 3 days to build the structure. It was great to see the faces on the students when we showed them the new space. Hopefully we get some updates on how the students are getting on!

Ebbw Fawr said ‘Our Workskills students can’t wait to make use of their new work shed! We’re very grateful for our awesome partnership with Tai Calon, who have built a space for our students to engage in outdoor learning, and gain experience of different trades like plastering, tiling, carpentry, bricklaying.’
