This year marks an exciting new chapter for Tai Calon and the communities we serve! We’re dedicated to making an even bigger difference in the lives of our customers and we’re already seeing positive results.
We’re thrilled to share that in October 2024, we’re proud to have received a glowing Regulatory Judgment, rated Green for both Governance & Tenant Services and Financial Viability.
This year has been challenging for everyone and has also presented numerous obstacles for the housing sector. Despite these challenges, we remain committed to making a positive impact on our communities and delivering high-quality services.
“We’re absolutely delighted with the positive Regulatory Judgment, which confirms the hard work and dedication of everyone at Tai Calon. This result reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality services and safe homes for our customers while ensuring we remain financially strong. We’re excited to continue building on this success and making a real difference in our communities.” – Richard Hopkins, Interim Chief Executive.
This means we’re doing a great job in these important areas. As a Registered Social Landlord, we’re regulated by the Welsh Government, which helps guide us to keep improving.
The Welsh Government has given us clear goals to follow so we can continue to provide the best housing services.
Here are the 9 key areas we focus on:
- Governance: This means making sure we’re well-managed by our leaders and staff.
- Service Delivery: We aim to provide high-quality homes and services that meet the needs of our tenants.
- Financial Viability: We carefully manage our money to ensure we can meet today’s and tomorrow’s needs.
- Tenant Safety: Keeping our tenants safe in their homes is a top priority.
- Tenant Satisfaction: We work hard to make sure our tenants are happy with the services they receive.
- Communication: We ensure our tenants know how well we’re doing by sharing information openly.
- Community Investment: We partner with others to improve wellbeing across Wales.
- Job Creation: We’re helping to create jobs, training opportunities, and apprenticeships for the future.
- Supporting Independence: We support people to live on their own confidently and independently.
Each year, we review everything we’ve done to see how well we’re meeting these goals. We share this with the Welsh Government’s Housing Regulation Team, which checks our progress and gives feedback. After this, a Regulatory Judgment report will be published, showing how Tai Calon is doing.
